Every new year invites us to pause, reflect, and realign our lives with the things that matter most. For me, 2026 begins with a profound sense of gratitude. After seven years of perseverance, prayer, and late‑night study sessions, I completed my Master of Theological Studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. This milestone didn’t just close a chapter — it opened space for new ones.
With seminary behind me, I now step into 2026 with renewed clarity and purpose. My resolutions this year are not simply goals; they are commitments shaped by faith, family, and a calling that reaches from Earth to the edge of space and beyond.
Deepening My Walk With God
The first and most important resolution is simple: Spend more intentional time with God and His Word.
Seminary sharpened my theological understanding, but now I want to return to the heart of it all — quiet moments with Scripture, prayer, and reflection. Before I pursue the stars, I want to stay grounded in the One who created them.
This year, I also want to become more involved in the life and fabric of my church congregation — not just attending, but actively participating, serving, and building deeper relationships within the body of Christ. Church isn’t just a place I go; it’s a community I’m called to strengthen and be strengthened by.
Investing in My Family
My wife and children have been my greatest supporters through every academic challenge and every step of my space‑related journey. This year, I want to be more present — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
More involvement. More memories. More intentional love.
Strengthening My Ministry
My online Christian Apologetics & Counter‑Cult Ministry has always been a place where faith meets clarity. In 2026, I plan to create more content, answer more questions, and help more people navigate their spiritual journeys.
The world needs thoughtful, compassionate Christian apologetics — and I’m ready to contribute.
Continuing My Pursuit of Spaceflight
My dream of becoming an astronaut was reignited in February 2025, and as the year progressed, my dream to go to space intensified.
This year, I’m continuing my pursuit of spaceflight and competing in the SERA Space competition with the hope of becoming a finalist and earning a seat aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. For me, this isn’t just about adventure. It’s about purpose.
Space is a frontier that belongs to all of us — and I want to help open that door wider.
Prioritizing Physical Fitness
Human spaceflight demands discipline, strength, and resilience. This year, I’m committing to a healthier lifestyle — not just for SERA, but for my family and my long‑term calling.
Learning a New Language
As someone shaped by both Mexican and American cultures, I’ve always believed that language is a bridge. In 2026, I plan to learn a new language to expand my ability to connect, teach, and inspire across borders.
Pursuing Professional Certifications
I’m prayerfully considering two paths that align with my gifts and calling:
SHRM certification to strengthen my work in HR
Chaplaincy training to serve people in moments of crisis and hope
Both reflect my desire to serve others with excellence and compassion.
Advancing the Providence One Mission
Everything I do — from ministry to space advocacy — flows from Providence One, the mission God placed on my heart:
Providence One Pillars
Sharing the Gospel in the context of space exploration
Advocating for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research for my wife and millions more
Expanding civilian astronaut access
Inspiring the next generation in STEM
Supporting space medicine & bioastronautics research
This mission is where my faith, my family, and my passion for healthcare and space exploration converge.
How This Connects to SERA
SERA isn’t just a competition — it’s a community of dreamers, innovators, and explorers. My resolutions align with SERA because:
Faith fuels my courage to pursue spaceflight.
Family inspires my perseverance.
Ministry shapes my desire to serve humanity — on Earth and beyond.
Fitness prepares me for the spiritual, mental, and physical demands of space.
STEM advocacy and MS awareness are directly connected to SERA’s vision of inclusive, human-centered exploration.
Providence One aligns with SERA’s mission to expand access to space and inspire the next generation.
My 2026 resolutions aren’t just personal goals — they are stepping stones toward a future where ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
Looking Ahead
As I enter 2026, I’m filled with hope. Not because the path is easy, but because the mission is worth it. Whether I’m studying Scripture, cheering at my kids’ activities, creating apologetics content, training for spaceflight, or advocating for MS research, I want every step to reflect God’s grace and purpose.
And if God opens the door for me to fly on New Shepard through SERA — I will carry my faith, my family’s story, and the Providence One mission with me to the edge of space.
Here’s to a year of growth, service, and exploration.
Here’s to 2026!
